About Biomedical Laboratory :

Biomedical engineering is an emerging area and exposure to different instruments of biomedical will be a great help to the students. The students cando projects or dissertation in the field of Biomedical Instrumentation. Starting from certificate to PG classes, biomedical engineering laboratory is the part of curriculum. The consultancy can be provided in this area with the active collaboration of medical experts and faculty from the Institute. The objective of this laboratory is to translate the technological advancements into innovations that will help in the improvement of public health care system. Also, research activities like development of an expert system for disease diagnosis, can be developed and may help the medical experts for quick diagnosis.

Major Equipment:

  1. Traveller ECG Vesta P1201 model
  2. Physio graph /Physiopac (PP4) along with transducers for measurement of various parameters that are ECG, EEG, EMG, GSR, pulse rate, temperature and respiration
  3. Machine: For determination and analysis of EMG signals of any subject
  4. Spirometer
  5. Semi-automatic Blood Pressure measuring machine Omron (Model M2)
  6. Blood Sugar Analyser
  7. IR temperature measuring Device
  8. Bio feedback Kits for measurement of GSR, Pulse rate

Objectives:

  1. Practice various measurements on human body using physiopac and Biofeedback kit and transducer associated with various physiological parameters.
  2. Measure the blood pressure and blood sugar level.
  3. Practice recording ECG, identify various components on graph and study QRS detection circuit.
  4. Exercise EMG signal analysis for unipolar and bipolar electrodes; EEG signal.
  5. Study the health of lungs with the help of Spirometer.

List of Experiments:

  1. To measure the respiration rate of human body with the help of thermistor as a transducer.
  2. To measure the pulse rate of human body with the help of physiopac.
  3. To measure the GSR of human body using Biofeedbackkit.
  4. To measure the blood pressure using Sphygmomanometer and Stethoscope.
  5. To measure the blood pressure using OMR ON kit.
  6. To study the Blood sugar device.
  7. Record ECG using student physiograph and identify P, Q,R, S and T components on the graph.
  8. To study the QRS detection circuit and find out heart rate using R-Rinterval.
  9. To measure the temperature using IR device
  10. Compare the EMG signal obtained from unipolar and bipolar electrodes.
  11. To study the characteristics of EEG signal.
  12. To Study the health of lungs with the help of Spirometer.
